Undead Unluck Anime Gets Second Season

After months of speculation and anticipation, it's finally confirmed that Undead Unluck is returning for another season. The news was revealed at a press conference held earlier this month.

The first season of Undead Unluck was released in October 2023 and concluded with its 24th episode in March 2024. The series is currently streaming on Hulu, offering a unique blend of supernatural elements and dark comedy.

The story revolves around Fuuko Izumo, who has the misfortune of accidentally killing people with her special ability, Unluck. Tired of this, she sets out to end it all. However, when she meets Andyman, a man who longs for death but cannot die, she finds herself torn between aiding him in his quest for an irreversible demise and living a life she never imagined.

The anime is produced by UNLIMITED PRODUCE under the direction of TMS Entertainment. The series was initially based on a manga created by Yoshifumi Tozuka, which first appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2019 and later transitioned to a serialized format in the magazine starting from January 2020.

The manga concluded its magazine serialization on January 27, with Shueisha publishing the 27th and final compiled volume on April 4. Additionally, Viz Media began releasing the manga digitally in January 2020 and later in print in May 2021. The manga also received the MANGA Plus service for digital distribution.

The Undead Unluck anime has been well-received by fans and critics alike. It has ranked at number 14 on the Kono Manga ga Sugoi list for formal readers in 2021. The series also earned a spot on the Tsugini Kuru Manga Taish Next Manga Awards in August 2020.
