Ghost of Yōtei Legends Launching March 10 on PS5
Release Date and Availability
Sucker Punch Productions has announced that Ghost of Yōtei Legends will launch on March 10, 2026. This online co-op multiplayer mode will be included in patch 1.5 and is a free DLC for all owners of the base game, Ghost of Yōtei. In certain regions, including Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, the content will be available starting March 11. Accessing the mode requires an internet connection, a PlayStation account, and an active PlayStation Plus subscription for online play.
Cooperative Gameplay Modes
The Legends expansion features three primary mission types at launch. Survival mode allows teams of up to four players to defend territory against waves of enemies across four different maps. Controlling a location enables \"Blessings\" for the team, while losing control triggers "Curses" that create disadvantages. The Story mode offers a series of 12 missions for two players. Completing sets of these missions unlocks Incursions—four-player assaults on strongholds held by members of the Yōtei Six. These culminate in boss battles against supernatural entities such as the Spider, Oni, Kitsune, or Snake.
Character Classes and Combat
Players can choose from four distinct classes: Samurai, Archer, Mercenary, or Shinobi. While all classes have access to katanas and ranged weapons, each specializes in specific gear. The Samurai utilizes the ōdachi and a broad range of weapon types. The Archer employs the yari (spear) and can carry a secondary ranged weapon. The Mercenary uses dual katanas and utility abilities, while the Shinobi focuses on stealth and the use of the kusarigama. Unique armor cosmetics and legendary gear can be earned through gameplay feats and high-difficulty challenges.
Legends Lobby and Social Features
A new Legends lobby serves as a hub for players to prepare between missions. Within this space, users can practice archery and combat, compete in games of Zeni Hajiki, or participate in the Bamboo Strike mini-game. The expansion also includes a dedicated Photo Mode, allowing teams to capture shots of their progress and coordinated action during gameplay.
Future Updates and Raids
Following the initial March release, Sucker Punch plans to expand the content further in April. This update will introduce a Raid, which is designed as the ultimate team challenge. The Raid will feature encounters with the remaining members of the Yōtei Six, specifically the Dragon and Lord Saito.
