AlphaPolis Expands Production Capabilities with Acquisition of NIA Animation
Acquisition Details and Timeline
The Japanese publishing house AlphaPolis announced on Friday its formal acquisition of anime studio NIA Animation. Under the terms of the agreement, NIA Animation will become a wholly owned subsidiary of the publishing company. While the specific financial details and the acquisition price were not disclosed to the public, the official date for the transfer of ownership is set for March 31.
NIA Animation Current Projects
NIA Animation is currently recognized for its production of CG (computer graphics) for the upcoming Hokuto no Ken -Fist of the North Star- anime series. The integration into AlphaPolis marks a significant step for the studio as it moves under the umbrella of a major content publisher.
AlphaPolis Publishing and Anime Portfolio
Founded in 2000, AlphaPolis has established a significant presence in the light novel and manga markets. The company is responsible for numerous titles that have successfully transitioned into anime adaptations. Notable works in their catalog include Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy , Gate - Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri , Re:Monster , The Unaware Atelier Master , Tsuyokute New Saga , and A Playthrough of a Certain Dude's VRMMO Life . Additionally, titles such as Observation Records of My Fiancée , May I Ask for One Final Thing? , and A Gatherer's Adventure in Isekai are part of their extensive publishing history.
Strategic Growth and Digital Services
This acquisition follows a pattern of internalizing animation production by AlphaPolis, which previously acquired anime studio WHITE FOX on September 30. To support its global outreach, the company launched the "Alpha Manga" service in 2021, providing English versions of its manga series to international audiences via a dedicated smartphone application.
